WowCamera are a grey importer, they're a legitimate retailer but they ship the stock directly from Asia without paying VAT fees to wherever they ship it. The upside is that if the package reaches you without getting caught up in customs you make a nice saving. The downside is if it does get caught up in customs then you will have to foot that VAT bill yourself. Also, regardless of whether or not the VAT gets paid the product is almost guaranteed to not have any warranty cover. I personally do not recommend buying from grey importers for goods like cameras with a lot of moving parts and therefore a lot of potential points of fault- if you receive a defective unit out of the box you're going to be paying for the repair on top of the potential VAT bill.

I would also recommend looking at the Sony RX100 mk iii alongside the G7X ii, it's another 1" sensor premium compact that has slightly less zoom range (24-70mm equiv vs 24-100mm equiv) but comes in a little cheaper (£489 vs £529 at authorised retailers according to camerapricebuster) thanks to newer versions causing the price to drop, and most importantly includes an electronic viewfinder.
Brilliant thanks so much! Will check out the sony today
