Marvel or DC

Which is better Marvel Cinematic Universe or DC??
MCU all the way
The DCEU is hot mess right now, comprised mostly of mediocre or outright bad movies and a release structure that completely botched the introduction of several of its major characters. There's only five films in the DCEU right now and they've arguably crammed in more missfires already than Marvel made over the course of twenty, and their attempts to shoehorn in two crossover/ensemble films so early has done the franchise's long term prospects absolutely no favours.

Marvel have a much better reputation for long-term strategy and finding directors who understand the characters thoroughly. Kevin Feige is also well known for giving complete creative control to his directors, unlike DC who have problems with studio interference from Warner Bros and constant reshuffling of their staff behind the scenes. While DC just seem to be throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks, Marvel have their stories planned well into the next decade. I need not mention that the way their productions are structured and executed has resulted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films becoming some of the best superhero movies ever made whereas DC have made a huge mess of some very popular characters.
marvel
MCU, know just a few good films made by DC, and it is almost Batman (if Black Panther counts to DCl, if not it is Batman only). Marvel has a greater choice.
marvel no doubt
DC, marvel just mass produces average at best movies on a factory scale while the short list of DC movies are far highly regarded. Take the new batman movies for example; regarded as one of the best movies ever made let alone the best super hero film

cinematic universe is marvel is comprehensively better than DC but your title is a bit misleading re marvel vs dc as both cover a plethora of media.

comics
depends on different eras tbh but back in silver age they were distinct from each other as dc tended to be more fantasy oriented whereas marvel tended to add realistic themes such as addiction, death etc.

80s would definitely be DC as they had alan moore and iconic stories such as crisis on infinite earths, killing joke, dark knight returns and something called watchmen.

90s would definitely be marvel

00s both had hits and misses (red hood and final crisis were highlights for DC; civil war and planet / world war hulk for marvel) and was responsible for the travesty (in the eyes of many) that was the one more day/brand new day story arc by the creator of babylon 5.

10s - first part of the 10s would definitely belong to marvel (superior spiderman was a surprising highlight) and DC ruined their universe with a retcon known as "New 52" - fortunately for DC fans, they retconned the retcon and have now returned to a hybrid universe with the added intruige that doctor manhattan (from watchmen) was responsible for the metaversal retcon. Marvel in contrast during the mid / late 2010's has been noted as introducing much greater diversity into their comics (highlights amongst fans being spider-gwen, ms Marvel and Miles Morales)

Videogames
prior to the arkham series of games, both were bad. Arkham helped DC gain an edge although the new Marvel gaming universe had a great intro with the new spidey game by insomniac.

TV- Live Action
DC has dominated this media although Marvel's recent offerings have been better than the Arrowverse.

TV- Animation
This is a tough one. The DCAU is arguably better than their entire film catalogue and was responsible for series such as Batman: the animated series and Justice League (unlimited). DC also has a much better animated film catalogue than marvel as well. Young Justice was also a highlight before its cancellation.
In the 90s, Marvel had a lot of childhood favs such as X-men, the 90s spidey series, iron man animated series, Hulk animated series and in the last 11 years have had surprisingly good shows such as Spectacular Spider-man & Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. In fact, it could be arggued that the popularity of relatively obscure heroes such as the guardians of the galaxy, black panther and Ms Marvel (currently Captain Marvel) in the Earth's mightiest heroes tv series is what made Marvel greenlight their inclusion in MCU

Its fair to assume if they're talking about the MCU then they're making the comparison to the DCEU, not the entire body of DC properties.
I would have to say that 'Marvel' for me is the better of the two, the 'DC' films are good but not what they could be and the characters don't seem to be overly the best. With marvel the films have sort of linked into each other or had spin offs whereas with dc the films haven't really been linked together or overly been as good as they could be and one or two spin offs.

Some of the old Batman & Superman movies were good. Wonder Woman & Justice League were both awesome. But, DC has had a lot of flops lately.
Batman vs Superman was awful. The fact those are the only ones I can remember kinda shows how bad they are right now. I could list 10 awesome Marvel movies off the top of my head.
