History and Politics at Keele University

Hi I’m thinking about applying to history and politics at Keele, and I was just wondering how interesting the course is and what’s it like etc.

Also how hard is it to make friends as an introvert at uni.
Thanks!

You need to look at the course page on the University website and decide this yourself.
What anyone else thinks about the course will not tell you if you will enjoy doing it.

okay yes definitely, already have done so! Just wondering what any people who’ve already taken it might think. Have you taken history and Politics?

Hi @josephina1234!

It's great that you're thinking of coming to Keele!

I'm an English student myself but I have friends who did BA/MA History and they really enjoyed the course. I also have friends who are PG students within the Politics department and they've always been very complimentary about their lecturers.

I'm sure you've already looked at the course webpages to see whether you think the content of the course sounds interesting to you. If you want to know more about the course, why not ask Dr Ian Atherton, Dr Rachel Bright or Dr Ben Anderson - they're three of our lecturers on the History programme and all three are available to chat with via UniBuddy (https://api.unibuddy.co/og/keele-university/buddies/staff/5f748b1c3077530520ee8d6b, https://api.unibuddy.co/og/keele-university/buddies/staff/5ea7eee4abc39e2182d1fd15, and https://api.unibuddy.co/og/keele-university/buddies/staff/5ef21ec470dece251106ac45 are their profile links).

You can also chat to our students on Unibuddy! Whilst we don't have any History and Politics students on there at the moment, we have some other students in the Humanities and Social Sciences who can tell you what life is like at Keele and why they chose to study there. You'll find links to all the profiles at https://www.keele.ac.uk/study/chat/.

Finally, we have our Open Days! These are virtual at the moment and the next one is coming up at the end of November so do consider signing up and joining us. You'll get to go on a virtual campus tour, chat with students and staff, find out about accommodation - everything you'd expect from an open day but in a virtual space. More information is available at https://www.keele.ac.uk/discover/opendays/undergraduateopendays/.

And of course, feel free to ask myself, @Keele Student Ambassador and/or @Keele Student Ambassador1 any questions you might have about life at Keele or what it's like to study there - all of us are students so we've got first-hand experience of the place!

Amy
