    Go Durham!
Is that a new compulsory message addendum, Talya? :p:

Anyway, I'm Dan, male, 17 & 3/4 & a bit, currently living in South Shields (teeny tiny bit south and to the east a bit of Newcastle) but grades permitting will be studying economics with French at Butler college.

Sorry, that was a bit of a mouthful. Good to be specific

    edit: Go Durham!

I haven't been to South Shields for ages. I think my Granddad used to take me there a lot when I was little. I don't remember much. Is there a little promenade, with a redish bandstand thing, somewhere? Hmmm.....

Edit: on a bit of sand and grass?

We're everywhere :p: I was with some friends at the National Mall in Washington D.C. on a school trip a few years ago, and we gave a woman there some money for the charity she was supporting. I thought she was Australian because of her accent, but when she asked where we were from she was amazed - she was actually from South Shields and had moved to the states.

Watch out world, we're taking over...

*nods lots* that description is pretty accurate, though I don't think the bandstand is red any more. I used to have to drive round that promenade during my driving lessons. Round, and round, and round... ad nauseam. Thank God I gave up trying to learn. I was rubbish anyway!

South Shields is without a doubt the best beach in Tyneside, in my opinion. People harp on about bloody Whitley Bay being a "Blue Flag Beach" but I think it's crap!! South Shields is so much nicer!

    Though can't beat Bamburgh....*drools*

I hate Long Sands too - but only because it brings back memories of school cross country! Running up and down the bleeding beach in shorts and a t-shirt in the middle of spring. We had to go right up to St George's at Cullercoats and then back round Prior's Park. BRRRR!
