Nope, they don't. I bought a cheap one for £5 the day I arrived.

They don't if you are in self-catered but they do have snazzy big mirrors in catered over your sink.

The Edinburgh bargain store (Nicholson St.) however have a lovely selection of mirrors of all sizes if you don't have one. It's a great meeting point in fresher's week - just stand near the coathanger selection and wait for them to flock round.

Btw - oh yeah, also no hangers in the wardrobe - couldn't believe it!!

Buy one.

If you get stuck with Unite accommodation, you will have a big mirror in your room and one in your en-suite.

I know! & I see you're a philosophy student too - i'm an ex-philosophy student and I can tell you now, no one will take you seriously if you don't have hangers.

lol, Nicholson St. is right next to George Sq. - it's like the main road of old town, you'll definitely find it/zigzag along it after a random night out...

ex? Should I be worried now? Or is that because you didn't have any hangers and people wouldn't take you seriously in tutorials :p: ?

Yeah, I've had a look at the map that was in the joining pack and it shouldn't be too hard to find, but thanks anyway!

Aaaww, my bad I knew that would scare you!

The hangers thing is correct. You try talking about Descartes and people will snigger at you at the back of the tutorial saying "just look at her crumpled clothes... obviously doesn't have hangers..."

Lol, nah the reason I gave up philosophy is that I wanted to specialise in certain areas (i'm taking theology/politics too and those are the bits of philosophy that really interest me). So it was a personal choice nothing to do with the rubbishness of the course etc., - though the philosophy department itself is extremely ditsy... that's gotta be expected though being philosophers.

& you will meet some of the most interesting people at university taking your course with you too. Your first lecture in George Sq. - just spend a couple of minutes checking out the outfits!!

I know all the South College Street flats have mirrors, if that helps, and we're self-catered.

i was just wondering.. does anyone know if the accommodation has mirrors in the rooms?
im not too fussed. just thought if i was doing make up or something, didnt want to have to hog the shared bathroom!
thanks

I'm in Pollock and i do.

In my previous room in Robertsons Close, I had one in my wardrobe. In my new room, still in Robertsons Close, I don't.
Usually, you have one mirror in the bathroom, and one in the corridor.

All pollock rooms have 2 mirrors.

One above the sink with a light above it to light it and a tall thin one on the wall at the end of the bed.

ive got a mirror,£2 a min.make an appointment first tho..cause it can get busy.lol.

(yes they do have mirrors in all rooms..dont sweat th lil stuff)
So the summary of this is in some places you do get a mirror and in other places you do, wait until you get there to find out and then buy one from EBS/a charity shop if you don't have one

I didn't have one in my room in first year but that issue was solved on the first day so it doesn't mean you'll be mirrorless for more than a few hours either way!

Darroch's has a few, but half of them are useless...i share 2 bathrooms with 2 flatmates so thats quite good...u've got mirrors above the sinks but the mirrors in ur room makes u look as if u weigh 300kg or something...
