can anyone help me with accuracy of apparatus?
Do the papers & revise the notes! We'll discuss our doubts this saturday.

ps- Lemme know if any one wants a change in the date!
I'm trying to download the revision guide, but it's getting stuck on 'processing your download request' - any ideas?

EDIT: Nevermind, sorted it!

BUT! I've been going through the May 2010 paper, and I swear there's stuff on there that's not on the syllabus or in the book - like the thing about not using hydrochloric acid with iron because it would be oxidised by the manganate - where on earth did that come from? Likewise the Buchner flask, that's nowhere to be seen :/

pipette= one volume only of 25.0 cm3

burette= each volume to the nearest 0.05 cm3 . Mean titre to 0.05 cm3 or to the
second decimal place

measuring cylinder= a 100 cm3 size to 5 cm3, a 10cm3 size to 1 cm3

balance= readings should be made to 0.01 g or 0.001 g depending on the precision
of the balance

timers= normally read to the nearest second.

thermometers= 0 to 100oC thermometers should be read to the nearest 0.5oC and
0 to 50oC thermometers to the nearest 0.2oC

List of Practicals for Chemistry 6B

You sure that you need to know all of that? It seems a lot ! In past papers there hasn't been a single question on equilibria, entorpy, Ph & Electrochemistry. Check your revision guide in the end where its got like a list of things you need to know for unit 6b, for those people in the UK. All past paper questions seem to match that list given.
