Hello, what is it, like 60 days till first Chem exam? Mind is boggled, but did a revision session with my mates today and it went HELLA well. Aiming for an A in Chemistry. Currently predicted a B but pushed to get an A.

I hate organics, but i'm slowly understanding more and more of it. I CAN DO THIS. WE CAN DO THIS.

See you guys closer to d-day
hi folks
predicted and aiming for a B in chem, currently working at mid C so there is hope!!!
tryin to get my head around reaction mechanisms w/ reference to order of reactants, 'tis not going well (spec section 5.1.1 i)), anyone got any tips/good resources??😭
good luck to all revising, we got this )

I think orders 6 markers are the questions where you should aim to score 6/6 because at the end is just basic maths and remembering the rate equation

excited but nervous, bro I'm not sure what OCR is gonna do, cus on Physics they gave a really really REALLY bad paper, so I'm really hoping they don't do that for chemistry and just give the normal ones🙏

Predictions guys 🙌

honestly, feeling like it's just gonna be same as usual, redox, buffer 6 marker. Lattice enthalpy question, the diagram, definition, enthalpy change of solution or hydration calculation. Oh and ofc Transition metals
It could be completely different tho...OCR did smth completely different for phys, a lot of the questions were more about applying and just plain weird and weridly worded, so could be same for chem.

Thank you so so much for your reply. It means a lot ) tbf ur right it’s the same pattern low-key every year. For transition metals what sort of Q do you think would come up ahaha

that's alr, it's good to think abt.
It could vary, could be a 4 marker or a 6 marker. 6 marker would be about identifying the complex ion/ionic equations and reasoning from the data it gives. 3/4 Marker could be just "What elements aren't classified as Transition Metals? Explain your answer" or smth
people who sat physics paper 1 ocr and paper 1 pe ocr have said that was not like any past paper ever, that the questions were worded differently??? which is so concerning

yep, im a physics OCR student who sat that paper, i'm honestly really scared that OCR do the same thing they did in Phys to Chem too, I'm done for if they do. Advice for if they do, read the question. really. really. REALLY. carefully. They might be trying to trip you up with some bull

i did the pe ocr paper and i think it was fine like i thought they were very lenient because the paper wasn’t bad but ik that physics was the worst paper
