If there was a riot in my pants, she'd be invited.

She's not been at all 'shamed' - and frankly I find this talk quite disturbing. She's been accused of something. It has not been proven against her and she has no criminal convictions. What you and some others have come out with here is frankly appalling.

Well, it wasn't us, it was the national newspapers and so far people have only afaik been communicating the facts about the case.

Still, it is preposterous that Laura should face all this trouble over her looting, clearly, if girls of her background wish to go looting during riots, they should be free to do so and it is no business of plebs like us to have the cheek to discuss it in public!

I hope the courts see the sense in respect of her rather delicate disposition and upbringing to administer a stern admonition by way of sentence and arrange for her to be driven home in some comfort afterwards, with a court counsellor appointed to see to her emotional needs.

So it's OK for poor people to riot and loot, but one rich person does and BAM, another opportunity to bang on about your BS socialist agenda.

Think it's just a bit harder to understand mate. Nobody's saying it's OK for anyone to loot.

Also: Bailey, who earns £1,000 a month at Stockwell Primary School, south London, left court with a newspaper over his face. A headline about “copycat cretins” covering his eyes, he walked into a lamp-post.

Oh yawn. A Cambridge boy defending another Cambridge boy. You're right! I surrender! No CAMBRIDGE student should ever be sent to anything as demeaning as PRISON for any reason whatever! You should be free to commit as many murders and acts of peadophilia as your proclivities demand and quite right too!

Given that most of you Cambridge mathematicians will spend your lives screwing the rest of us for some bent casino bank, I can also manage without your lectures on the morality of the rich and my position about that.

I'm sick of people defending the little git that is Charlie Gilmour. He deserves his sentence and frankly, I hope he rots in that jail cell. I can't believe the amount of sympathy people have for a pampered, vain little brat who defaced a war memorial honouring those who DIED fighting for this country.

I am not defending his actions, I just disagree with your assertion that Charlie Gilmour's background meant he was sentenced lightly.

"Grammar school girl" is hardly an impressive way to describe her poshness, I went to a grammar school and we were hardly posh. All it meant was we passed an 11+.

Her dad's a millionaire and her house looks huuugggeee!!

Why are people so quick to defend her.....Oh,wait. I've just seen her picture. Makes sense.

I honestly don't think she's that pretty.

What the **** are you on about?

She has not been convicted of any crime, yet here was a person on TSR treating her like a criminal. Innocent until proven guilty.

Also this lol. But a mixture of both. Society tend to make excuses for people who are deemed as attractive.

Hold on. I'm pretty sure when I read your comments, you were not saying that about the Mark Duggan case in early days. LOL

What a fool.

Well, I hope she doesn't, just because her family is wealthy, get let off or has it easier, I hope she gets what she deserves, if that means she loses her uni place, so be it.

That is of course, if she's guilty.

Good thread OP

I didn't personally say he was "sentenced lightly" - I pointed out that his sentence was lighter than many portray it to have been. Reviewing the case, he:

* Was seen and photographed making petrol bombs.

* Attempted to start a fire in the doors of the Cabinet Office (attempted arson).

* Was urging other protesters to attack the police.

* Publicly acted in a highly offensive way at one of the most sacred national monuments.

I am fairly sure he was sentenced pretty lightly looking at the above.

In fact I would say he remains a good example of the differential treatment of rich kids from poor ones before the courts.

From the Mail. She wasn't alone apparently - her friend Alexander Elliot-Joahill sounds posh!

THE GRAMMAR GIRL: Millionaire's daughter Laura Johnson, 19, was charged with stealing £5,000-worth of electronic goods, including a Toshiba TV, Goodmans TV, microwave and mobile phones.
The goods were allegedly found in a car being driven by Miss Johnson after a branch of Comet in Charlton, south-east London, was raided.
Bexleyheath magistrates heard that a 'public order kit' of balaclava, gloves and a bandana was also found in the car.
Miss Johnson attended St Olave's Grammar School in Orpington, Kent, the fourth best performing state school in the country, after transferring from its sister school Newstead Wood.
She achieved A*s in French, English literature, classical civilisation and geography A-levels, and is now studying English and Italian at Exeter University.
Her parents, Robert and Lindsay Johnson, live in a large detached farmhouse in Orpington. It has extensive grounds and a tennis court. They sold their previous house, near Greenwich, for £930,000 in 2006.
Miss Johnson's parents, who supported her in court, run Avongate, a direct marketing company.
Her father is a businessman with directorships in several companies. He was a director in a company that took over the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport newspapers in 2007.
During her schooling, Miss Johnson offered her services as a tutor. On a website she wrote: 'I was a student at Newstead Wood School for girls and gained four A*s and nine A grades at GCSE.'
Miss Johnson indicated a plea of not guilty to five counts of burglary and was granted bail on condition that she does not associate with the two men allegedly found with her.
She must wear an electronic tag, submit to a curfew between 7pm and 6am and not enter any London postcode. She is due to return to court on September 21.
Camberwell Green magistrates heard that a 17-year-old and Alexander Elliot-Joahill, 18, were allegedly passengers in the car. Both were denied bail and will next appear on September 7.

Boyfriend, perhaps

That'll break the hearts of some of the male TSR users in this forum who are defending her because she's 'sexy' (I repeat: I don't see it.)

To me she has the typical "posh girl" look, a bit overindulged and cute, well maintained hair. I guess she normally wouldn't as much as glance at most of the guys on here, but perhaps she will be feeling a little less superior than normal today!
meh, there were people from all different backgrounds rioting
