1 in 3 FEMALE american soldiers are raped!!

Sex attacks are common in the army but there its just brushed off and these women hardly ever get justice.

Edit: Why do women even agree to join the army?

Sexual assault =/= rape.
EDIT - check the title. '1 in 3 women are raped'. The video states '1 in 3 women are sexually assaulted'. The title is misleading.

Sexual assault =/= rape.

Where in the op was it said that the issue was with 'sexual assault', as opposed to rape? Also in the video, all the women they interviewed spoke about how they were raped, not sexually assaulted.

Oh and, sexual assault, that's ok then. Carry on.
Russia Today =/= reliable source, especially when reporting on American matters.

If 1-in-3 of their comrades get sexually assaulted what must happen to the women under American occupation?

That's part of why women shouldn't be put on the front line.

1 in 3 women. There aren't as many women as men in the army, already reducing this statistic to a smaller scale. I doubt they've asked every woman in the US army whether they've been raped or not, and found this figure to be near to or exactly one third.

Maybe 1 in 3 women who were asked, and were only asked because the askers thought they would have been raped due to individual circumstances, have been, and the rest (the overwhelming majority which is probably 90%+ who have not been asked) have not been raped. The sample size is not big enough to warrant a massive outcry.

Why have you said this?-this is prejudiced against women, who can shoot a gun just as well as men and may possibly have more strategy than men because they are more clever than men.Women shouldn't stop going to the army, just because they might be raped?and they should be stronger than that because nothing should stop you, frtom getting the career you want.

You pulled all of that out of the air. Why did you bother?

If 30 women in the army are asked whether they have been raped, due to individual circumstances which have been observed by the askers, that make their rape more likely such as male bullying, and 10 of them say yes, then yes 1 in 3 of those women have been raped.

Take all of the women of the US army and ask them whether they have been raped, the statistic is going to be much lower. Perhaps only those 30 from before have been raped, making it 30 out of x-thousand. Or it could be 100 out of x-thousand, not making 1 in 3.

Definitively ask every women in the US army whether they have been raped, and if 1 in 3 of them say yes, then I'm wrong; I won't be. There's no way that this is representative of every woman in the US army; it's obvious not even 1% have been asked. Get some understanding.

Check the title. Secondly, when did I ever say sexual assault ever was okay? No need to have a hissie fit.

I would love to see that ACTUAL study and the specifics before I make a comment on this.

However, I must take the time to note that 1 in 3 women being RAPED (which is what this thread and other related threads report it as) and 1 in 3 women being SEXUALLY ASSAULTED (which is what the report *actually* apparently says) are two totally and completely different things.

Look.. there are certain jobs that women just shouldn't do. Its common sense its unsafe!!
secondly men and women are designed differently the average man is stronger than the average women.(you can look that up)

BTW there are plenty of other jobs out there that women are more then capable of doing.

Well what about those that do not report being sexually assaulted/raped.

It's not the numbers that are the issue, it's the fact that rape/sexual assault is occurring in a supposedly well-organised/disciplined army.

However, If female soldiers are at risk - however large or small, it still is an apparent risk - then how can these same soldiers be trusted to perform well and in a modest manner in foreign countries.

Reports of sexual assault/rape have been occuring for years in the US Military.

While 1in3 is almost definitely a massive exaggeration, it's long been true that there's a violent bullying problem with the US Armed Forces and the US Army particularly. Sad, wrong and disappointing, but what are a bunch of students 3000miles away supposed to do about it?

Your sources are from Wikipedia and The Daily Mail, therefore your argument has no credibility since you've just done a google and pulled out the most unreliable sources ever.

I agree that not all women are going to report sexual assault and rape, but there's just no way that 1 in 3 of women in the US army experience this. Not all women have been asked, therefore it cannot be assumed that this statistic is true. Probably less than 1% of women in the US army have been asked.

tofee???
penis model? what are you on about?
sexual assault isn't rape, but it's just as disgusting.

Do you mean to say that it's not safe for women to be around a bunch of unsupervised, uneducated, testosterone fueled knob heads? I've heard it all now
Yeah, Russia today is freaking joke. And just because due to the nature of rape and the occupation we're dealing with (i.e. we're you're supposed to be strong and tough) hence rapes a proportion of rapes/sexual assualt are likely to be under-reported doesn't mean we can simply guesstimate.
