Hey sorry I can't answer your questions. Basically I'm literally in the same position as you. lol I've heard of the stories too and I'm kinda worried. But yeah I'm hoping there are some cool people.
Mate I got offer from weston hall as well.I think there are always good people there XD. I'm not going to swap my offer with others (there aren't many choices left though),btw my room is GR:06:11 probably arrive 4-5 days before that
Hi guys, I've been offered a place at Owens Park, but would someone from Oak House be willing to swap as my Welsh student finance has come through and I won't be able to afford Owens Park as the maintenance loan will not cover it and my parents will not be able to fund the additional money required. Please message me guys x

If you cannot get a swap, i strongly suggest that you contact manchester accommodation to change your room. Once you start uni, you will be required to stay in the room and pay the rent for the full duration of your room contract.
for anyone in oak house, what does SY mean at the start of your room number, so confused

Does anyone know where room T8.17.18 is in owen's park?
Sorry im a total newbie so im not sure if im posting this in a right place. I have had to resit one of my exams and the results date is at the 13th of September. Iv called the people at accomodation to let them know my situation months in advance, but they said theres nothing they can do about it.

My concerns are that will I be rejected because its too late, and if ill likely miss my freshers week because of there being a late offer
I have a room available in Sheavyn house Fallowfield for students moving into halls, message me if enterested, it is ensuite and self-catered.
hey guys! does anyone know which halls are good in VP besides Hulme? I heard some halls don't have good soundproofing or have poor internet connection! Anyone can givr any tips on VP halls? Say like Liberty Park or Canterbury? Also is St anselm becoming co-ed? Not digging the 'sausage fest' hahaha thanks a lot in advance for any help provided!!

St anselm is now co-ed. dalton ellis seems to be a good hall as well

You can choose hulme, St Anselm and dalton as your 3 choices.
Anyone knows how hulme, dalton Ellis and St anselm’s compare (socially, facilities, traditionally etc) ? Especially for hulme and St Anselm’s
(edited 6 years ago)
just want to notify future resident of Oxney House and Gardens / other wearehomeforstudents accommodation, a thief broke into my flat room 3 days ago. the security is 0 (no warden, no window shield or iron bar, useless cctv) and thief can easily . even worse, the property owner just won't upgrade security or pay compensation for my goods that were stolen purely because *****y security level of the house.

Been to Hulme to visit before (i.e. not living there myself), but from what I see it's like a hotel concept. A long corridor with rooms, rather than rooms within individual flats. There's a pantry/kitchen but it's shared within the floor (if I'm not wrong), but then the hall's catered. Toilets also shared across, rather than within people of a flat. So it boils down to whether you'd be comfortable with this concept, cos some do prefer a flat concept with a 'living room' to chill with flatmates. That said, you do meet people in the dining hall and there's a bar and a lounge (?) so it's not impossible to socialise either, just in a larger area.
