Pride and prejudice- believable characters?

"The main problem with this tale is that some of the characters and their actions are unbelievable."
Any help with writing an essay in response to this would be great, just ideas to get me going

erm well i've just been set this as an essay as well and a few ideas that i have come up with is that the plot and storylines are believable in themselves and they characters within the stories are typical of the time.

> the satirical tone makes it harder to take seriously, eg.) mrs bennet, lady catherine and mr collins

also less developed characters like mary bennet are not as believable as we never hear much from her

if you get any inspiration more ideas please help!
