Which is more important? Being in a good university or achieving a better grade?

For example, a person who graduated from university of Sheffield with 2.1 vs a person who graduated from Sheffield Hallam with 1st class.

Which would impress your friends and family more?

If you are an employer, which would you pick considering all other factors being equal.

Please do a forum search as this sort of thing has been discussed many, many times. So often, in fact, that I'm afraid threads of this type began getting locked in 2009. So I'm afraid I'm going to have to lock your thread.

You can find some of these threads below

And a similar one which is open at the moment: -

But there are many more, including ones directly comparing former polytechnics and redbricks. Look at 2009 in particular.

I hope you understand.
