Dynamics of Machines -- how to draw the force and moment polygons?
I can't seem to find any links or an explanation in my books about the rules on drawing them.
1. Primary Force Polygon
2. Secondary Force Polygon
3. Primary Moment Polygon
4. Secondary Moment Polygon
I think the primary force polygon would have the force vectors in the direction on the shaft (which is away from the shaft), .
But I have no clue on the other 3 polygons. E.g., which direction they should be and why.
Below are the primary and secondary force and moment polygons for a six-cylinder engine which is shown on the left hand side of the image. Cheers
