Again, what do you mean by tether? You can tether devices to mobile phones because they have their own data connection, but it's different for computers.

I've heard that you can do it with 'connectify'

How is the computer itself connected to the internet, and is there anythings stopping the playstation being connected in the same way?

Comp connected wirelessly

ps4 can't connect because of '802.1x security'

I see. You could try connect it to an ad-hoc network run from your computer, though that might be a bit slow. Is there an ethernet port in the wall into which you could connect the PlayStation?
