Return to history degree after leaving 4 year

Hiya, looking for some advice if possible!
I started a history degree in 2008 and completed 2 years witH decent grades. I actually deferred during the beginning of my third year due to ill health. I didn't return the following year as I was working etc etc
Anyway now I have a mortgage, a son and a part time job but I have decided that I would love to finish my degree and possibly go into teacher training, something I have been thinking about for a while now.
'y question is if I would be able to return to finish my course after not being away for a few years and also there is the problem that I would need to return part time now that I have a family?
i have already emailed the university history course leader and I am waiting for a reply from him but I am wondering if anyone has any useful input here or any experience with this sort of thing??
