A time statistics question

I am trying to explain time 1, and time 2 being different from time 1.

time 1 is continuous and time 2 is random

λ(X)=φt

λ(Y)=σny\frac{n}{y}/dt\frac{d}{t}

λ(X)=φt1=t1Z\frac{t1}{Z}

λ(Y)=σt1Z\frac{t1}{Z}=t2

Would this maths explain this?
