i was trying to understand the reactions and im confused as to what it mean when glycine reacts with sodium hydroxide to form the salt of its conjugate base , what does it mean by salt of its conjugate base ?
A conjugate base is the resulting species when an acid loses its proton, which for glycine at basic pH would be H2N-CH2-COO-. So its sodium salt would just be H2N-CH2-COO- Na+ (or NH2CH2COONa)
