nanoparticles and bulk silver

First of all, idek what the hell bulk silver is ahahha.
there's a table saying the differences in properties between silver nanoparticles and bulk silver.
BULK SILVER = colour, silver. melting point, 962. antibacterial properties, low.
SILVER NANOPARTICLES = colour, yellow. melting p, 258. antibac properties, strong.

The question is: Explain why the two materials in table 3 (the info above) have different properties.
I dont know where to start with this. Is the anti bac properties something to do with the nanoparticles being able to be used as catalysts? idk man i need help
