Buying a Silver Ring

I'm a man and wanted a silver ring but don't know much about jewellery. I saw a ring made of something called 925 sterling silver is this good or bad its priced at £60
.925 just means it's 92.5% pure silver, the rest of zinc and copper it think. It's not really worth anything significant so the price of the ring probably reflects it's style.

So would you say £60 is good for a 925 ring?

It doesn't really work like that. You can buy cheap .925 silver rings for less than £5 easy, you're paying for the design/style/label of the ring so it's actual value is highly open to argument, like many spending choices it really comes down to whether you like the ring itself, but .925 won't be impressing anyone and will prob tarnish or, your skin over time.

Look at designer jeans, you aren't really paying more for the denim quality, you're paying more because they say Armani on them rather than Primark, that's where 90% of the price is going, not materials.

So In terms of a genuine valuable silver ring does it have to be 100% silver then?

Pretty much .999 silver, and obv depends if it's solid silver or merely silver plated in terms of it's value. But should be added that the majority of people can't visually tell the difference between .999 silver, .925 silver and polished steel *shrug*
Since you're new to jewelry, it's understandable to have questions. When purchasing a ring, it's also essential to consider factors like design, size, and craftsmanship to ensure it suits your style and preferences.
