Responses to Violations against human rights

Hi guys!
I am really struggling with my human rights assignment. The question is: 'to what extent is historical justice relevant to adressing massive violations of human rights?'

From the research I have done, there are varied answers about what historical justice is, and what it includes. Most books and articles don't even mention historical justice. But when it is mentioned it is very contradictory and I am no longer sure what to write about. Some say it is a big part of transitional justice, others say it is just about memorialisation and some say it is just the trial accounting.

Does anyone know what I need to look at and include for this assignment? I really am confused.
