OCR a level law 2024

Hi so for paper 1 there’s is there an option to do a question murder or a question on OAP (theft, robbery, burglary) or do you have to learn both
You get a choice of two scenarios in Paper 1 with two questions (two different topics).

1st scenario could be on murder and the other theft or 2nd scenario could be on mental capacity defences and attempts.

It is the luck of the draw essentially.

However you do not have a choice for the evaluation question.

There will only be one evaluation question in the exam which you must answer.

Be that on non-fatal offences or consent

Probably intoxication or OAPA
guys whats the structure for 8,12 and 20 markers
8 markers you give the role or explainsomething, just break into paragraphs and give yourself 12 mins. 12 markers get 20 mins, you evaluate so give either 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages, 4 advantages or 4 disadvantages depending on what's asked and break them into paragraphs, linking each to the question. These are AO1/3 only

20 markers for the scenario questions you get 30 mins. Give a basic definition then AR/causation if necessary/MR or for defences etc. the elements, and conclude making a decision either convicting or not convicting and give sentence. I'd give AO1 then apply, AO1 apply in sections, e.g. for assault I'd give ao1 on act, apply, AO1 on apprehend, apply etc.
For the 20 mark evals, give a short intro linking to question, the ao1 of offence/defence, then give 4 Eval points. At the end of each link it to the question - I'd go with a point, explain, example, link structure. Make sure to give a conclusion at the end and mention reform if asked, or you're capped at half marks!
Good luck
