Are you required to pay the extra money to sit the exam early? Seems like your school could just enter you along with the rest of the cohort taking GCSEs.
If you're good enough at maths that you could get an 8 or a 9 without much difficulty in year 10, then it's not likely that it'll take time away from your other subjects in year 11 if you sit it then.

good point ill ask my school if i could sit it with the rest without paying thanks for the advice im thinking of doing it in yr 11 at the moment i am a grade 7
