Proof Of Probability Formula P(a<x<b)

Can someone please check if my solution is valid? The highlighted area is what I have to prove. I’ve included my answer and the lectures answer below. Is my solution valid? Thanks for your help.

You;ve got a mssing bracket near the end and the disjoint (mutually exclusive) really means the probabilities sum to 1 as it deals with intersection, not that the union of the sets is complete (they could still be complete but not disjoinnt). Other than those looks ok.
