Inequality help

Hey which one is correct…
I’m dividing by a negative number so the sign should flip right?
But there’s 2 negatives on both sides so do they cancel and the sign doesn’t flip?
I’m confused as to when to flip an inequality sign. IMG_2571.jpegIMG_2572.jpegIs it when I minus by a negative too?

You could simply stick a simple number in to check, so x=4 satisfies
-2x < -6
so ...

Or take the terms to the opposite sides so
-2x < -6
6 < 2x
...

So the answer is 3<x right?

Yes, they thing with the previous post was to try and get you to resolve things like this yourself as youll always have questions like this and sticking numbers in, transforming the equation ... can mean you can sort them out yourself which is obviously important in an exam.

For inequalities, if youre unsure switch sides and make the x coefficient positive, then divide or do whatever.
