A level chemistry

If a subshell has 2 electrons in it and experiences a increased repulsion will its ionization energy be higher or lower than an unpaired orbital that has 1 electron in its subshell and doesn't experience repulsion?
2 electrons in the same sub shell next to each other repel each other as they have opposite spins. if they repell each other it is easier to remove an electrons from that sub shell therefore lower ionisation energy than removing an unpaired electron. however other factors affect too such as energy level, shielding etc
