are you saying you can't see why -pi/4 -pi/4 = -pi/2, or something else?

Edit: as per the other poster, the pi/2 that subtracts the area under the curve is just the area of the rectangle :smile:

they founf the area of the rectangle, when x=-pi/4 or pi/4 y=1. the base of the rectangle is pi/2, and the height is 1, so the area of the rectangle is pi/2.
