Anyone know how to go about answering this question, I got up to the bit I marked red, but have no idea what happened to the 4, solution bank answers really be too brief sometimes

Just used partial fractions. Try working backwards and see how the 4 relates to the +/-2 on the denominators.
Ah right thank you, I haven’t done partial fractions yet so I might do a few of them and then come back to integration
