will my gcse grades make it difficult to get etc job

hi, i’ve recently received two conditional offers for secondary english pgce. I’m in my final year of university doing an English lit degree, however my gcse and level results were not the best. I got a grade B at GCSE and a grade C at A-level for english and i’m worried that this will make finding a job later on more difficult.
Hi @sinnybby

Honestly, once you have graduated and completed your PGCE employers won't be paying much notice to your GCSE grades as they will know that they were good enough to get onto an English Lit undergrad and then a PGCE.

PGCE's entry requirements are usually based on what is needed for the jobs that applicants are most likely going to be going into. So for example, the PGCE I am starting next September requires a grade C/4 in Maths, English, and Science because that is what is required of a primary school teacher nowadays.

You will be more than qualified to teach English at secondary, I would not worry about your GCSE grades as long as you meet the requirements.

I hope this helps and good luck!
