Complex number quick question

I've just learnt about complex numbers. I find myself writing z = a +bi out of habit, instead of z = a+ ib in textbooks. Is this the same? So is it okay if I keep writing z=a+bi instead of z=a+ib?
Sorry if this sounds like a silly question

Both are fine. The imaginary part is
b*i
so that equals i*b (obviously)
