Oxford Foundation Year - Admissions Test

I applied to PPE with a foundation year. There is a 2 part admissions test that is timed (45m each). How can I prepare for this?!

Yes they sent an email to me on Monday. By stats, I mean your predicted grades and GCSEs.

I am applying for it this year, however, I can’t seem to find any admissions test.

The honest truth is, you can’t actually prepare however question are quite straightforward. This is for PPE, I’m not sure about others but you gotta just have a good understanding of philosophy, politics and economics. The only difficult one was with Dr Matt himself who tries to twist questions on you to see how you think. Good luck!

What advice would you give applicants at this stage of the application process? How many students were accepted last year?

Thanks

Last year there was about 12? Out of 20?? Or something like that? so there’s no rush to fill up the 20 applicants, you gotta earn it. Advice I would give is very typical but one thing I wish I did is think outside the box! Even if the question is straightforward, think outside the box on other ideas you can talk about. I remember one person who had gotten accepted was talking about these wild ideas and she was stressed out that she may not get in. Just make sure to link back to the question! Think creatively!

Thank you for the info! Can I ask you one more question? It's hard to find FY students who are studying CEMS in this type of forums, do you have any insight on the application process for CEMS student (like what to expect at interview, and roughly how many CEMS students get an offer?)

thanks
