desmos

Hi, bit stuck on Desmos (first time user!) How do you add Theta into the equation box, I want to use it to be able to show variances in the angle. Thanks
Im pretty sure desmos only allows x,y so you can just replace theta by x?
What are you trying to graph?

Just type "theta" (without the quotes) and desmos will parse it

Though it is a button under "keyboard" - "ABC"

Great, thanks for your help.
Oh I didnt even know you could do that! I was confused as theta=y doesn't work but y=theta does - I guess you just cant make theta as a function of anything.

In polar coordinates you usually use theta as the independent variable so

and I guess they put a bit of parsing in to make sensible guesses about Cartesian/polar and dependent/independent, but cant say I know chapter and verse. I just usually try it and see if it works.
