What order do you start with for graph transformations (alevel maths)

I was doing a past paper and one of the questions require me to draw the graph
ln(2x-5)
I thought you apply the stretch (so x1/2 first) and then add 5.
So I drew the x-intercept to be at 5.5

However I looked at desmos and their x intercept was at 3.
Clearly they added 5 and then divided by 2

What order do I use for transformations?

Its usually easier to view it in terms of
z = 2x-5
so
x = (z+5)/2
so add 5 then divide by 2 or
x = z/2 + 5/2
so divide by 2 then add 5/2. Either set of transformations is valid.
