Hi, I think you can absolutely do it if you put your mind to it. The best way I found (I got a 9) was to do as many practice questions as possible and mark them. If you can, get a list of all the topics from the course and rank them red, amber or green. Any reds you go through and do practice questions on those. If you are confused/stuck, revise the topic. Then go back and do questions. Once all the reds on the list have been crossed off, do the ambers in the same way. Keep going back through the list to check what you feel confident/ not so confident about.
Also, I found it useful to make a flashcard/ cue card on questions that I got wrong to revise mistakes, especially for the 1-mark sentences that you sometimes have to write e.g. about a graph. All it takes is for 1 mark to push into the next grade boundary so it does make a difference.
I highly recommend Corbett Maths (https://corbettmaths.com/contents/) for practice questions and answers. They also have practice papers.
Any questions, please feel free to message me.

It's far better to tackle the amber topics first ...

i'd say its really possible, conisdering you were 5 marks off

what worked for me is that I wrote down a list of all the topics I got under half marks on (ask ur teacher if you don't know the topic) then i went away and revised them all, i recommend using maths genie, that carried my during my gcses, use pmt as well

once you've done that, redo the questions you got wrong, make sure to understand WHY you did it, that turns a grade 6 to a grade 8 due to your understanding of the question
make sure to attempt as many past papers as possible after you've revised over your bad topics and redone your paper
I got a 5 in my mocks and turned it into a 7 in like 2 months, then got an 8 in GCSE's
you've got this fam

AQA

I would avoid doing the MC questions until later - they can be tricky and people often lose marks on them.

Try the revision and worksheets on here as they have grade questions: https://mmerevise.co.uk/gcse-maths-revision/

That's fair enough, I guess the amber ones would be quicker and easier to improve
