Ummm by the time he went to uni, he had been in prison, so longer wanted.

to teach? what would be his subject? general ignorance? :biggrin:

seriously though, I doubt he would get in on an undergraduate course because it may well be hard to teach him, him being quite old and reasonably bright

Well you know what I mean. He was a thief!

And I'm not sure, they weren't that good. I don't think he specifies in his book, but obviously as it was a long time ago CC or something would be sufficient in some cases to get in.

I am a huge fan of the Fry though. I also think that (even today) Oxbridge are universities that value people having weird quirks (hence the interview thing) over actual exam results, and he's full of them. So who knows? He'd probably have a shot.
