Haha well I'm called Phil, quite tall with dark hair and a beard (yes, i'm 17).

Wow that's quite a coincidence! Haha you may come across me twice then

Yeah, funny that. xD Hehe I know plenty of guys with beards at 17. Nonetheless it'd probably be easy to spot you. I'm not very tall and have long dark brown hair.

I'll see you Tetra and HitTheLights tomorrow as well. Make sure you take the Piccadilly line to South Kensington if its easier because the district/circle lines are pants. My name is Richard D of course :P

Thanks for the advice. See you there.

Well today didn't really go as planned.
My train down to london was 45 minutes late, meaning i was 30 mins late to the introductions thing.
I'm not entirely sure how my interview went, i said some things that he agreed with then some things he totally disagreed and corrected me on :P
Both trains home were delayed, I've only just got home from leaving my house at 5 this morning.

How were everybody else's interviews?

Yes tube is £1.60 in zone 1 on your oyster card. And you don't need luck. You already have an offer.

thats true , you have an interview = you have an offer <unless if you kill the interviewer>

did you show any coursework or was it only questions based on your personal statement?

It was just stuff on my personal statement really, and he asked me to explain how a machine of my choice works. Then i asked him what he did, which for some reason all the other applicants thought was a stupid idea, and found out some pretty interesting stuff.

You had to explain how a machine of your choice worked? Yikes, I'd be kind of intimidated by that. Sounds like I was luckier. My interview was basically 'why do you want to do engineering?' and then a couple of questions from my personal statement. The whole thing was pretty short - perhaps about 15 minutes. My interviewer said he'd recommend the admissions office to give me an offer, but nothing official. I'm really pleased!

Mine was quite technical. There was why do you want to do Engineering etc then what are you studying in Maths: Complex Numbers etc.... oh explain complex numbers to me...I defined imaginary numbers labelling them as complex numbers but whatever and said how they have applications in Engineering (particularily electronics). Then about resonance from Physics.

Then, Why should I offer you a place and do you think you will cope with the work.

I think it went quite well. At the end she said something like "You're suitable for a conditional offer" but can't remember if she confirmed I was geting an offer. Just have to wait till next week I guess.

No actually - I had Dr J. Dear.

It doesn't really seem fair that the interviews are quite varied depending on who you get. I'm glad they're over. :p:

what do you mean you asked him what he did?

I asked him what he specialised in. He explained some things about his laser measurements in combustion engines :P

I think my interview was somewhere in the middle difficulty-wise, glad everyones seem to have gone alright though! I had Dr Beyrau, he didn't mention whether I would be getting an offer or not.
