UCAT Score not improving

Hi, I am really worried about my UCAT score because I have been practising for 4 weeks now and my ucat score has stagnated at 2300. I have done 8000 questions and 12 mocks but seem to be getting nowhere. I have 2 more weeks to go and am not sure what to do. Could someone please help me understand where I am going wrong?
Hey there, thanks for posting a question in the Medicine forum.

Hi! Have you been reflecting and going over what you get wrong? I was in the same situation as you until i started going over the mocks and questions i did and then i started to see big improvements. Also what do you think the main thing that’s halting your progress, are you getting the questions wrong or is the timed aspect of it?

Hello,

In a similar boat as I too have taken 12 mocks thus far, with an average on my first 4 of 2580 (660/680/640/600) vs. on my last 4 of 2550 (630/730/610/580)… I too am guilty of not really going over the questions I miss outside of the question banks while actually learning anything significant from them, but for me even worse is that I am very bad with my timing as in on my last 4 mocks I haven't even clicked in an answer for 3 of the 4 sections (the only one I am good at timing is DM). Personally, I think I need to review my mistakes and focus on areas I am weakest in based on the Medify question subtypes, as well as focus on the last 3min of every section just reading what remains and making a quick guess but always clicking in answer for each question. Best of luck, and will follow this thread. Personally, I am using Medify for their full mocks and subtests mini mocks, and The Medic Portal for a sporadic question bank. If it's of any interest to you, here are my scores so far… [green] https://ibb.co/YjRVgK3

Yes, I have been reflecting a lot, especially on VR so I have created a logbook and gone through each question, stating why each option is wrong. For the others, I have trouble reflecting because I am not sure what to reflect on and worry that my reflections are too shallow and repetitive. I have practised doing mental maths for QR (to improve timing but it doesn't seem to work), created a list of patterns for AR and for decision making I try to understand my thought process to find out where went wrong. I think the main problem is not knowing the technique for speed and accuracy in VR, DM and QR and for AR recognising the patterns. I have also been watching youtube videos. I feel I have done everything but nothing seems to work....

Hi there! So speaking from personal experience, with 2 weeks to go I think you have to do like a targeted study... so find out which section(s) you're the weakest at currently, and if possible which concepts in those section(s) - and really focus on improving there. And make the ones you're good at your strongest sections, if that makes sense.
Also, it might not seem a very big deal, but scheduling your mock tests also plays a role - So say you just gave a mock today and lost the most marks in a particular section. So if it were me, my plan would be to give practice and give section-wise mocks over the next 2-3 days, especially focusing on your weak areas, and then giving a full-length mock on the third day.
I feel like giving mock exams randomly and without analysis would lower your self-esteem and confidence. I hope that helps.
You could ask for individual section advice too, I'd be happy to help!

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me! I struggle the most with DM especially evaluating arguments, drawing conclusions and logic puzzle questions. Could you give me advice on how to tackle those questions? Also, do you have advice on how to shave off time for the QR?
