In the light dependent reaction ATP and NADPH are produced; both of these are used in the Calvin cycle to produce sugars. So no sugar is produced directly in the light dependent reaction, it is produced in the Calvin cycle.

SO thats why herbicide reduces the amount of sugar produced since it prevent the production of ATP in the light-dependent reaction.:rolleyes:
