Give your answer in the form a+bsqrt(2)

Hi there,

So I've been doing a few practice C2 papers, and one of the questions asked me to give my answers in exact form. Normally my calculator can do this when I press the S<->D button, however sometimes it won't convert and I need to go into the mark scheme, find it and divide the actual value to the "exact form" to see if I get 1.

Is there a way to force the calculator to give me the value in surd format?

Nope, do it using your head, pencil and paper.
What was the question?

It was just some definite integral one, I got the right answer but just not in the exact form.
