Thought it was a decent paper. Not the easiest not the hardest. Some answers I can remember are:
32
15.5
3
8.75
0.727
48
2.5i + 2.5j
13
16.6

May have remembered a few wrong and definitely missed out a couple.

grade boundary predictions?
Original post by xx_lofsuburbia
Probably 2... I didn't write it, either

Thats what happens when u skim read the question :P
whoops i screwed up the speed time graph but i did get the right shape -_- and the question 7 vectors but other than that it was better than the 2015 paper!

did anyone get 1.6m and 66kg for the moments question? I was almost 100% sure that was right

I got the same as you. I did the question 3 times and got the same answer each time so...

How many marks do you think I will lose for not writing the bearing for the last question (i got the correct magnitude - 16.6N).

What was the bearing??

I think you will find its the same as 135deg from the horizontal not 45

I would have thought that saying 135 or 45 from horizontal are both wrong if there is no clockwise/anti-clockwise mentioned. I wrote 45 degrees from horizontal-south west then added bearing of 225.

The magnitude is 16.6N not -16.6. I imagine you will probably only lose 1 or 2 for not writing the direction.

yh i got + 16.6 N the - wasn't supposed to be a minus.

wheres the mark scheme !!!!!!!

Taken from an almost identical question from June 2013.

"Direction clearly marked on a diagram, with an arrow, and 45o (oe)marked"

i got 1.2m and 42kg...

Same here.
Guys for the direction of the force on the pulley, it's not in terms of bearings, look at this past paper, you had to draw on the diagram.

I can't remember the order of questions and I may have missed a few out but here are my answers

1) bearing 104
Position vectors
640i + 640j
2) T = 20.6
R= 15.45
3) impulse 3Ns
4) graph sketch
Total time = 40 and T was 18.75 or something
5) coefficient of friction : u = 0.73
6) (moments)1.2m and 42kg or something
7) 2.5i + 2.5j
Speed 13m/s
8) 11.74 or something
Pulley - 16.something at 45 degrees into plane (225 bearing)

^^^ This is 100% correct, Any idea the marks for the impulse questions
hardest M1 paper i've seen, hopefully drags the grade boundaries down
Does anyone know how many marks each question was ?
What was the coefficient of friction, I got 0.873

same
can anyone explain why the moments question gave 1.2 and 42 rather than 1.6 and 66? and how many marks do you reckon I'll lose for putting 1.6 and 66?
