Aiming for A* in Maths.Stuff I'm struggling with: As stupid as it sounds, Numerical Methods and Modulus graphs. Everything else is straightforwardenough imo.

I’m currently getting low As in maths but am aiming for an A*. Does anyone have any tips on how to boost this grade

What are we predicting will come up??

Parametric, vectors and circles for sure

vectors, circles, parametric (a nasty 10 marker integration or something), partial fractions (with integration), harder trig (identities and/ or equations), harder series (maybe), harder differentiation and integration (implicit or something). All these topics were missing from paper 1 and are generally the harder topics so make sure to focus on these topics!

solving trig identities w the angles

i hope its full of calculus

There will be some (I'm predicting parametric differentiation and an IBP question) but I don't think it will be "full" of calc.

I think there will be a 5 marker on vectors, a difficult IBP and a parametric differentiation. There will deffo be a logs modelling question, a trig proof and I'm feeling like there could be another differential equation? (Ik that there were two in paper 1 but in Further Maths, there were two in the first paper so we assumed that we wouldn't see any in the second but there was one in the second paper as well. Easy marks, but still, it can still appear).

I think we'll get a differential modelling where we have volumes and surface areas for cones or some other shape and we're expected to come up with a formula for the radius or max height or that type of thing.

i feel like for the parts it will be something like
e^2sinx where you have to rearrange
ive seen a video on it

yh i hear what youre saying about modulus dropped 2 marks on that k question minors though only 2 marks

yh i think youre right that year 1 modelling
maybe a tricky one that will catch people out

Yeah, something like the integral of 3^lnx. It's a cold solution though.

I think worst case, I've probably got 80 out of 100, but I think I might be in the high 80s or low 90s.

Thanks! I obviously hope I've done a lot better because it puts a lot less pressure on the rest of the papers but gotta get on the grind for paper 2 and paper 3 (paper 3 in particular).

Yeah, I started grinding this morning at about 10 am. I had done like a couple of papers in our Maths lessons before the start of the exam period but everything else was done this morning.
