R - yes.

Hi,

I wish to question this.
For Edexcel I was told by my teacher not to bother with the trig factor forumla. And I have never seen it in a question before. However why is it given in the formula booklet?

In case you want to use it as an alternative method to answer questions. However it is never necessary nor required in any paper. It is not tested directly as it is not on spec.
