Does anyone know anything about studying Maths at Oxford? I have 12 A*s at GCSE and an A in Additional Maths and would love to apply but some people have hinted that it's more competitive than other courses - is that actually true? I'm at a state school & sixth form and have no idea if I could even get an interview!
You could ask on the 2015 thread? Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Ok, hands up, I'm not a mathematician but 12 A* at GCSE is an excellent set of results. Don't worry about whether it is more or less competitive then other courses - do you love maths? do you like the course structure at Oxford? do you meet their entry requirements? (all the details on the course and requirements are here: http://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/under...ng/mathematics) If so, then apply. It sounds trite but if you don't apply then you have no chance of getting in! Bear in mind as well that for maths you will have to sit the MAT.

as a recent Keble graduate, I take serious issue with what is being suggested here The hall is definitely one of the best in Oxford, and this was the view from my room in second year...

I mean how can you not love a college that has been described as looking like a lasagne/a train station/something that was made on minecraft Also getting to live in said lasagne for the entirety of my degree/the lovely community it contained was also pretty fab.

Also OT this thread makes me feel so OLD. You guys are the same age as my baby sister, and it really doesn't seem like that long since I was applying myself!

yeah, apparently, although I don't see it myself (and also don't personally like lasagne so said comparison doesn't fit very well with my love of Keble ). I studied history!
