Questions to people currently taking Maths at Uni

Hi guys,

I would like to undertake Maths at university in the foreseeable future, and have two questions to people already doing the course. My questions are:

1) What subjects did you do at A-Levels?

2) What was the offer you were given by the university (or universities)?

Any responses are greatly appreciated, as I must choose my A-Level subjects in a weeks time!

Thanks.

As long as you do Maths and preferably as much Further Maths (at least AS but A2 is better), you should be fine. Physics is also a bonus because it's fairly mathematical and gives you grounding in a lot of Mechanics-type stuff that comes up in uni Maths (and A-level Maths for that matter).

FWIW, I did Maths, Further Maths, Psychology and French to A2 and Music Tech AS.

[EDIT:]

someone on this forum (can't remember their name) is currently at cambridge doing maths, having done maths, further maths, french and psychology at a level.

Epic timing!
The two posts above couldn't be more perfectly timed

Did Maths, Further Maths, Physics and psychology.

Offer from Cambridge, Warwick, Nottingham and Bath.

Rejected from Bristol (it still hurts)
i did maths, further maths, french and physics to A2 and AS chemistry.

i got offers from (all with AA in maths and f maths):
Oxford: AAA
Warwick: AAB +1 in STEP/ Merit in AEA
Durham/Bath/Bristol - i think these were all AAB

Maths, FM, Physics, Chemistry, Latin

Cambridge: AAB+1,1 (you won't get this any more, i think the standard offer has increased to A*AA+1,1)
Warwick: AABb+2
Imperial: AAA (12 a modules in maths+fm)
UCL: AAA (including A in maths and fm)
Bath: AAB/AAC+2

u asked for people currently taking a math degree but ive had offers for next year if u want a more up-to-date idea...

warwick-AAAa2 for math
birmingham-AAb for math
Keele - ABB math

warwick demanded a level further math or will bump math to an a*

birmingham dropped AAA to AAB due to FM

i currently do Math, Further Math, Physics As, Business, Economics As...

physics helps math alot...

Thanks for your input. Can you tell me though what the highlighted notations mean (+1,1)?

I've applied to exactly the same uni's as you did!

As everyone else has said, maths, further maths and then whatever else you want to study and can get A's in.

Sorry to bother you, but did keele actually ask you for ABB because I got an offer of A in Maths with 300 UCAS points?
