ohai guys. my laptop (the one mentioned a couple of days ago) isn't fast enough to run the Ubuntu live CD, and crashes halfway through the Wubi installer.

I'm therefore stuck with using XP for a month or two.

I WAS going to attempt Xubuntu, but memory footprint for XFCE vs GNOME has GNOME using less.

Is DSLinux worth a shot?
Ouch. My left eye hurts... :pinch: Too much squinting while taking photos. :frown:

I'm a mere amateur. I've just been getting some practice using a proper DSLR, (lent to me very kindly by my budding pro photographer brother, as I'm too skint to have my own kit...) to take crime scene photos and evidential quality photos of seized articles.

You remember that project that I had in my first year? The tiger porn investigation? I was looking through the photos that I took and thought... bloody hell, these photos are crap... so I've been getting a bit of practice in. :yep:

I'm also quite amused by you having a scale in the photographs - my old geology teacher would approve greatly.

Ahh yes. :teehee: Basically, in my first year, we had to investigate a possession of illegal images case. Obviously, because we can't have real illegal images, my lecturer made a fictitious law that forbade the possession of images of tigers. We nicknamed it the "tiger porn" case (even though the images weren't pornographic, or even of a sexual nature). :p:

And yes, for the images to have context and for the viewer to have a perspective of scale, we have to use a photomacrographic scale, such as an ABFO No. 2. :yep:

Sometimes the solution to not knowing how to do an assignment is the simplest... drop the module and choose an exam-only module as a replacement :awesome:
Oh and guise, check the new speed test result in my sig/profile

It's an Orange San Francisco. Probably the best £78 I've ever spent. Specs comparable to Android smart phones that are far more expensive. It's truly remarkable how much you get for your money with it! :yep:

What phone are you running these days?
