this is as far as i got

d > 15/(5-2.03)
d > 5.050505050505050505....

Where is the range????

i got a slightly different equation:

f = 14.6 + 2.16d

the other equation is

f = 5d

so 14.6 + 2.16d > 5d

d > 14.6/2.84

the distance would then be anything greater than 100*14.6/2.84 km is cheaper with the first operator

i noticed that it was different from yours.... i used an online calculator & typed in the numbers in the question...

anyway the method is correct once you have the line sorted out
