Mat 2023

Hi!

I'm applying to Imperial and Warwick for maths this year and I'm sitting the MAT in October. Does anyone who got in to Imperial/Warwick for any maths related courses have any tips? I'm looking to be getting above 80 in past papers by the time I sit the test. Does anyone have any specific resources they used or a timetable for the next 2 months as they are the most crucial for MAT prep?

Attend Oxford online maths club (every Thursday) - https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/visiting-and-outreach/outreach-events/oxford-online-maths-club-3

Make sure you do the pre session exercises

It’s already been running for a few weeks so you’ve missed some sessions so catch them up on you tube

Do make sure you do all of the past papers https://www.maths.ox.ac.uk/study-here/undergraduate-study/maths-admissions-test

Don’t necessarily split your time by marks, make sure that you finish the multiple choice questions quite quickly

Do talk to your school to see if they offer additional teaching for mat / step

Do talk to your school to see if they know of any current students who will conduct mock interviews with you (needed if you pass the MAT)

Looks like they are now running through past papers so if you use the above link you can do the worksheets before watching what they ran through in the sessions. For the past papers, attempt the appropriate past papers first and then watch the broadcast

as you can see, you’re a few months behind so you may want to do a past session and this weeks session in the same week to catch up
