Can you take more units to complete the short course to get it to a WHOLE GCSE after you done Y11 (Reciving the Cetificate and all)?

It depends. Specifications usually change therefore no. If the specification hasn't changed then an extra unit to complement the other would get you the whole GCSE. I'm not completely sure.
