Hi, (just did my short course RS GCSE exam today). I think for Catholics sanctity of life is the most important thing as God has given life so only he can take it away. However for other groups (e.g. Church of England) they recognise that euthanasia/abortion is sometimes necessary if it will improve quality of life, or if the person is living in pain etc., allowing euthanasia would be kinder.
