I've just accepted Leeds Met as my first choice and I'm just wondering which accomodation I should apply for. My course is at broadcasting place so I'm thinking about somewhere like Opal, Carlton Hill, Mill street, Liberty park? (Not too bothered about 20 min walk to campus)
Which ones are best value for money/ people are sociable? I read somewhere that opal was hard to socialise with people? Dont know if this is true or not!- Just wondering about peoples expirences and views and where the best place to go is

what's the course that you're doing at broadcasting place?
is anyone at silver house? i will be in flat 5

I'm staying at Mill St. anyone knows how I am supposed to get to Headingley campus? It seems quite far away...
Hi!
I've got a room at unite concept place Accommodation I don't need for this year, was wondering if anyone is interested? Its near opal accommodation, the tannery and Senitel towers, there's also a good student bar called unit one next to it, so it's a really good student area! It's £99 a week for an ensuite room with double bed, close to Leeds uni and Leeds met, let me know if anyone's interested  need someone ASAP!x

Mill Street is near the bus station in Leeds city centre, you can get bus number 6, should take about 30 minutes door to door.
I've just managed to get in through clearing and I'm applying for accomodation, but I don't know which one to choose. Preferably want a en-suite with heat and lighting included in the rent...but they're all expensive! Argh decisions D:

I've just booked a type 2 room. I haven't seen many people on here saying they're off, but it's almost full by the looks of their website. Probably full of art students or something.
I went to have a look at it the other day, didn't see a room (just went to the reception to enquire) but there's lots of pictures of rooms on their website. I got outsmarted by a gate on the way out but other than that it looked alright.
From what I saw of the area walking through it's just a load of terrace houses, a social club, a few Asian takeaways, one bar that may or may not have been a tiny club, and a whole lot of nothing.
I saw a house with about 10 solar panels on the roof and not one had been smashed so I'm guessing it's a nice enough place.
Took me about 40 minutes to walk from IQ to St. Chad's Church which is right near the Headingley campus.

Hi,

I'm Danny, the Housing Manager for One Mill Street.

In Mill Street you only pay for the electric, there is no gas and water is included in the rent so there's no need to worry about bills.

In larger developments, Unipol administer an 'energy supplement' system where energy is paid for at the same time as the rent. It's currently charged at £6 pppw at Mill Street. Each flat has it's own electricity meter and throughout the year the wardens will carry out meter readings. At the end of the tenancy the majority of students will receive a refund from the money they have paid along with their deposit.

As for the location, it really is in Leeds City Centre! Mill Street is just across the road from the bus station and you can reach Broadcasting Place by a 25 minute walk.

Danny

I'm also seriously considering The Plaza, it's meant to be quite nice and it is by far one of the cheapest that i've found and it's also central to the city which is important
