ACCA vs Degree in Accounting and Finance ??

Hi, I'm a Level 3 AAT Student who is hoping to go to uni this September, but after hearing my other options from my college its confused me a little into thinking that I don't really need a degree to go into accounting as an ACCA is more employable and higher than a degree (as I've been told).
Is this true? And what would be my better option?

Degree in Accounting & Finance offers a wider range of fields to go into, most universities will offer exemptions from other qualifications (such as ACCA) on completion. Some roles within accounting require a degree.

Being a level 3 AAT, you will get exemptions from ACA exams thus allowing you to qualify within 2 years. Im not sure about the specifics for the ACCA but I would imagine that you will get a fair amount of exemptions from them too.

If I were you I would consider:

Are the costs of getting a degree worth it if you are going to result in going back into accounting and doing an ACA/ACCA anyway???

It depends how sure you are about your career choice and what benefits you want to get out of uni that you couldnt otherwise get on an ACA/ACCA training programme.
